How does this product hold up in cold climates?
Experience shows that Stardek Coatings have performed well in northern climates. Unlike other products such as stains or paints, Stardek seals the concrete preventing moisture from penetrating the surface, freezing, and causing the concrete to pop off.
How is it applied?
Stardek products are easily trowelled, sprayed, or applied with a roller. Patterns are created with the use of stencils or tape.
How long have Stardek products been used?
Color-Crown (manufactor of Stardek products) has been manufacturing concrete coatings since 1972!
What is concrete resurfacing?
Concrete resurfacing is the application of a new concrete surface applied directly on top of an existing concrete surface. Stardek products are not only for old concrete, but for new concrete too. This will slow down the deteriorating process, extending the life of your concrete.
What are the products made of?
They are not a paint or stain! Stardek products are formulated using tough acrylics, color pigments, and cementitious materials that bond permanently to concrete.
Where and when can Stardek products be used?
The tempature must be above 50 degrees and the surface must be dry. We can apply them to pool decks, driveways, garage floors, patios, entries, basements. Both Commercial and Residential applications.
How do I get an estimate, pick out color and design?
Kwik Kerb® gives free estimates. In your free estimate we will come out and measure your concrete. We will also show you a pictures of projects we have completed. The coating is only as good as the concrete surface we are applying to, so we need to come out and look at your existing concrete to give you an accurate price. Also, when we are out at your property, we will look at patterns and colors with you to find the application that fits your budget and needs.
Does it crack?
Yes, it is a cement-based product and it can crack if your base concrete cracks. Cracks can not be fixed, but they can be treated to make cracks less visible. We can include your cracks in the design and most times they are hard to see when the overlay is complete.
